Emergence

This is an ongoing, two-way dialogue between mathematics and the other sciences. Indeed, mathematics is essential for tackling problems arising from other sciences; conversely, the fundamental questions raised by these sciences, in turn, feed back into mathematics. They thus enable the development of new theories, which in turn lead to a better understanding of the complex phenomena under study. Advances in fundamental mathematical research are key to future and groundbreaking innovations.

The second 2025 call for proposals is open to projects in fundamental mathematics with a clearly identified potential for interaction.
