The Mathematics in Interaction Research Programme (PEPR Maths-Vives) launched its second call for proposals (CFP) in December 2025,published on the ANR website.

This second 2025 call for proposals aims to identify a subject, an object, a problem or a specific challenge which, to be understood in all its complexity, requires multidisciplinary collaboration where the development of new mathematics (objects, modelling, methodologies, simulations, …) is combined with one or more scientific questions within the thematic areas of the PEPR Maths-Vives (life, environment, society, emergence)..

Each submitted project must have at least two coordinators, at least one of whom must be a mathematician. One of the coordinators will be the project lead in dealings with the ANR. The project will be organised around a multidisciplinary team, including through the recruitment of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from different and complementary disciplinary backgrounds to address the multiple facets of each topic. It will involve the substantial development of new mathematics, knowledge, information and varied methodologies, through groups of scientists from complementary scientific disciplines, to be grounded in an interdisciplinary approach.

This call for proposals is open to scientists from French higher education and/or research institutions wishing to submit proposals to meet the objectives of Maths-Vives. Stakeholders (e.g. local authorities, NGOs, socio-economic actors, etc.) and other French and international partners may be involved in the consortia, though they will not be eligible for funding from the programme.

Projects must be submitted by 11.00 am on 30 June 2026. Projects will be evaluated by an independent international scientific panel, which may request a presentation of the projects.

The project will run for between 3 and 5 years, and the amount of funding requested must be between a minimum of €350,000 and a maximum of €600,000. The total funding allocated for this call for proposals is approximately €7 million.
